MUMC has organized ministry which will focus on helping others in the local community of Montgomery. This ministry is called “The Carpenter’s Helpers.”
Mission Statement of
The Carpenter’s helpers
(a ministry of Montgomery United Methodist Church)
To spread the love and care of Jesus Christ through the repair, construction and maintenance of residences of those in need in our community.

Men, women and youth are invited and encouraged to volunteer. Skill levels are unimportant; desire to help others is primary.

Clients will come from referrals from the Church and several outside agencies, private and public.

This ministry is chaired by Carl Herring and assistants, Bud Hamilton, Dan Leasure and John McCall. There is a sign-up sheet on the main table in the church foyer. Please join us.

A few of the Carpenter's Helpers' projects:
Margaret Eldridge; Harry Graham; Pearlie Hatchett; Lynn Martin; Candice Baker; Margret Eldred;
Bruce Garrin;Norma Montgomery; Barbara Harris; Gosling; Ruby Mae Bates; Chuck Allen; Lela
Adams ; Shirley Steiger. These projects are various from painting, landscaping-clean up , floor
repair, building a new house, ramp construction, decking; other sundry repairs and construction.
Many Volunteers have given numerous hours and found this Ministry to be very rewarding while
making some new life friends. As one volunteer said” This is the most rewarding thing I have
ever done” and that sentiment is shared by most, if not all, of The Carpenter’s Helpers.
