December Events

On Friday, December 4th at 11:30 the Cookers will be providing a BBQ meal for the MUMC Church Staff Luncheon.  We will be serving sliced brisket, sausage, cheesy potatoes, baked beans, dessert and drinks. We will need 7-8 volunteers to serve. Servers should plan to arrive by 10:00.   

We need to have a cook day prior to this event.  We will only be smoking 4-6 briskets and will prepare the sides for rewarming the day of the event.  I will be watching the weather, but am going to shoot to do the cook on Tuesday December 1st.  If you are interested in assisting with this, please let me know.  

 On Wednesday, December 9th, we are going to be serving BBQ sandwich bags at the 3rd Annual Fields of Faith event at the MISD Athletic Stadium. The Cookers will participate in the Tailgate event which precedes the Faith Service where we will be preparing and serving 300 meal bags beginning at 5:00 and ending at 6:15. This is an event that is open to the community  and sponsored by MISD.  

We will need 3-4 folks to set up in our designated tailgate area at 1:30.  Then we will need volunteers to make up the sandwiches and bags at 3:00.  Then we could use 4-5 folks to serve from the tent from 5:00-6:15 when we will break down our set up and leave. We will use two pop up tents and a couple of tables, so set up and tear down should be pretty easy.

We are excited to serve at this event and represent the Youth of our Church and Community!  We could certainly use a few more volunteers.  If you are able to assist with this event, please let me know!
